Millcreek’s foothill neighborhoods offer varied grades and access to dog-permitted outdoor routes. Requests are scheduled selectively according to travel time, the day’s route and the animal’s needs.
Millcreek Canyon permits dogs under rules that vary by day and location. Bramblebrook outings remain on lead regardless. Current canyon rules, fees, closures, weather and crowding are checked when a canyon outing is being considered.
The upper canyon gate closes in winter, which shifts our longer walks to the lower trailheads, Pipeline's lower access and the neighborhood-to-bench routes. Fee stations, holiday crowding and spring mud all change what a good route looks like week to week.
The steeper streets east of Wasatch Boulevard can suit a conditioned dog but may be inappropriate for a senior, recovering or mobility-limited animal. Gradient, footing and duration are selected deliberately after the dog’s needs are reviewed.
